Movie Review Trio

Here are three movie reviews for November sorry for the delay in getting them out sooner, for this time of year is very hectic.

Overlord (R) starring Wyatt Russell, Iain De Casestecker, Jovan Adepo, Pilou Asbaek. Drama/Thriller

While fighting in the war against Germany, a  group of paratroopers drops behind enemy lines to destroy the enemies transmitter. As the soldiers approach the village they notice that the villager’s problems are more than just with the war but also with sinister experiments done by the Nazis.

This was a good film filled with action, intrigue, suspense and plenty of drama.

Rating: 1/2 out of 5

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (PG13) starring Johnny Depp, Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law. Drama/Fantasy

Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander to help him stop Grindelwald’s plan of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over non-magical beings. Newt soon learns that his life and that of his friends may be in danger.

Although the film introduces a few new characters in this second film in the Fantastic Beast series, it was a bit of a letdown. The film was a  little confusing, had too many loose ends and not enough action scenes.

Rating:/5

Widows (R) Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Daniel Kaluuya. Drama/Mystery

Four women are left to pay a debt left behind by their criminal husbands after they are killed by the police. The women must find a way to pay the debt in order to stay alive.

Don’t be fooled by the exciting trailer on this film. although it was enjoyable, this film was not as exciting and action-packed as it looks. However, the acting and storyline were good.
