“Power Rangers” (PG-13), starring  Dacre Mongomery, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, Becky G, RJ Cyler and Elizabeth Banks. Science fiction. Five troubled teens find some strange coins at a mine site unaware of the power that they hold. Later they discover an abandoned ship hidden underneath the mine and with help from an unknown source, begin a journey to unleash the coin’s powers thus allowing them to become the “Power Rangers”. The fate of the world depends the on rangers defeating the evil Rita (Elizabeth Banks) plan to destroy the world. Given the fact that this movie was based on the once popular power rangers’ characters, I found the storyline was pretty good. I think the young talented actors gave good performances in the film. However, it would have been better without some of the corny lines during the action scenes.

All in all, I give it a “thumbs up”
